RESUMO

To evaluate the performance of online teaching during the COVID-19 period, we collected 1886 survey data from college students in Hubei Province, China. The scoring rules of the Framework for Teaching were used to measure college students' satisfaction with online teaching, and an econometric model was constructed to empirically validate its dynamic influences. We found that college students' satisfaction with online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic was lower than that with offline teaching. Online teaching satisfaction was significantly affected by variables of class size, proportion of online teaching, epidemic severity, college grade, network, course classification, major classification, and the teacher's age and skills. It was further found that as COVID-19 gradually dissipated, offline teaching should be resumed as soon as possible. These findings objectively evaluate the teaching performance of college students during the COVID-19 pandemic and can provide suggestions for optimizing online teaching during future emergencies.

RESUMO

In the era of the Internet and the Internet of Things, display technology has evolved significantly toward full-scene display and realistic display. Incorporating "intelligence" into displays is a crucial technical approach to meet the demands of this development. Traditional display technology relies on distributed hardware systems to achieve intelligent displays but encounters challenges stemming from the physical separation of sensing, processing, and light-emitting modules. The high energy consumption and data transformation delays limited the development of intelligence display, breaking the physical separation is crucial to overcoming the bottlenecks of intelligence display technology. Inspired by the biological neural system, neuromorphic technology with all-in-one features is widely employed across various fields. It proves effective in reducing system power consumption, facilitating frequent data transformation, and enabling cross-scene integration. Neuromorphic technology shows great potential to overcome display technology bottlenecks, realizing the full-scene display and realistic display with high efficiency and low power consumption. This review offers a comprehensive summary of recent advancements in the application of neuromorphic technology in displays, with a focus on interoperability. This work delves into its state-of-the-art designs and potential future developments aimed at revolutionizing display technology.

RESUMO

Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide to organic chemicals provides a value-added route for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. We report a family of carbon-supported Sn electrocatalysts with the tin size varying from single atom, ultrasmall clusters to nanocrystallites. High single-product Faradaic efficiency (FE) and low onset potential of CO2 conversion to acetate (FE = 90% @ -0.6 V), ethanol (FE = 92% @ -0.4 V), and formate (FE = 91% @ -0.6 V) were achieved over the catalysts of different active site dimensions. The CO2 conversion mechanism behind these highly selective, size-modulated p-block element catalysts was elucidated by structural characterization and computational modeling, together with kinetic isotope effect investigation.

RESUMO

Uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferase(UGT) is involved in the glycosylation of a variety of secondary metabolites in plants and plays an important role in plant growth and development and regulation of secondary metabolism. Based on the genome of a diploid Chrysanthemum indicum, the UGT gene family from Ch. indicum was identified by bioinformatics methods, and the physical and chemical properties, subcellular localization prediction, conserved motif, phylogeny, chromosome location, gene structure, and gene replication events of UGT protein were analyzed. Transcriptome and real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(PCR) were used to analyze the expression pattern of the UGT gene in flowers and leaves of Ch. indicum. Quasi-targeted metabolomics was used to analyze the differential metabolites in flowers and leaves. The results showed that a total of 279 UGT genes were identified in the Ch. indicum genome. Phylogenetic analysis showed that these UGT genes were divided into 8 subfamilies. Members of the same subfamily were distributed in clusters on the chromosomes. Tandem duplications were the main driver of the expansion of the UGT gene family from Ch. indicum. Structural domain analysis showed that 262 UGT genes had complete plant secondary metabolism signal sequences(PSPG box). The analysis of cis-acting elements indicated that light-responsive elements were the most ubiquitous elements in the promoter regions of UGT gene family members. Quasi-targeted metabolome analysis of floral and leaf tissue revealed that most of the flavonoid metabolites, including luteolin-7-O-glucoside and kaempferol-7-O-glucoside, had higher accumulation in flowers. Comparative transcriptome analysis of flower and leaf tissue showed that there were 72 differentially expressed UGT genes, of which 29 genes were up-regulated in flowers, and 43 genes were up-regulated in leaves. Correlation network and phylogenetic analysis showed that CindChr9G00614970.1, CindChr2G00092510.1, and CindChr2G00092490.1 may be involved in the synthesis of 7-O-flavonoid glycosides in Ch. indicum, and real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR analysis further confirmed the reliability of transcriptome data. The results of this study are helpful to understand the function of the UGT gene family from Ch. indicum and provide data reference and theoretical basis for further study on the molecular regulation mechanism of flavonoid glycosides synthesis in Ch. indicum.

RESUMO

Ecological water replenishment (EWR) changes the recharge conditions, flow fields, and physicochemical properties of regional groundwater. However, the resulting impacts on mechanisms regulating the sources and transformation of groundwater nitrate remain unclear. This study investigated how EWR influences the sources and transformation processes of groundwater nitrate using an integrated approach of Water chemistry analysis and stable isotopes (δ15N-NO3- and δ18O-NO3-) along with microbial techniques. The results showed that groundwater NO3-N decreased from 12.98 ± 7.39 mg/L to 7.04 ± 8.52 mg/L after EWR. Water chemistry and isotopic characterization suggested that groundwater nitrate mainly originated from sewage and manure. The Bayesian isotope mixing model (MixSIAR) indicated that EWR increased the average contribution of sewage and manure sources to groundwater nitrate from 46 % to 61 %, whereas that of sources of chemical fertilizer decreased from 43 % to 21 %. Microbial community analysis revealed that EWR resulted in a substantial decrease in the relative abundance of Pseudomonas spp denitrificans, from 13.7 % to 0.6 %. Both water chemistry and microbial analysis indicated that EWR weakened denitrification and enhanced nitrification in groundwater. EWR increases the contribution of nitrate to groundwater by promoting the release of sewage and feces in the unsaturated zone. However, the dilution effect caused by EWR was stronger than the contribution of sewage and fecal sources to groundwater nitrate. As a result, EWR helped to reduce groundwater nitrate concentrations. This study showed the effectiveness of integrated isotope and microbial techniques for delineating the sources and transformations of groundwater nitrate influenced by EWR.

RESUMO

Background: Previous studies on the effect of global warming on the global burden of disease have mainly focussed on the impact of high temperatures, thereby providing limited evidence of the effect of lower temperatures. Methods: We adopted a three-stage analysis approach using data from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 study. First, we explored the global burden of disease attributable to low temperatures, examining variations by gender, age, cause, region, and country. Second, we analysed temporal trends in low-temperature-related disease burdens from 1990 to 2019 by meta-regression. Finally, we fitted a mixed-effects meta-regression model to explore the effect modification of country-level characteristics. Results: In 2019, low temperatures were responsible for 2.92% of global deaths and 1.03% of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), corresponding to a death rate of 21.36 (95% uncertainty interval (UI) = 18.26, 24.73) and a DALY rate of 335 (95% UI = 280, 399) per 100 000 population. Most of the deaths (85.12%) and DALYs (94.38%) attributable to low temperatures were associated with ischaemic heart disease, stroke, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In the last three decades, we observed an upward trend for the annual number of attributable deaths (P < 0.001) and a downward trend for the rates of death (P < 0.001) and DALYs (P < 0.001). The disease burden associated with low temperatures varied considerably among regions and countries, with higher burdens observed in regions with middle or high-middle socio-demographic indices, as well as countries with higher gross domestic product per capita and a larger proportion of ageing population. Conclusions: Our findings emphasise the significance of raising public awareness and prioritising policies to protect global population health from the adverse effects of low temperatures, even in the face of global warming. Particular efforts should be targeted towards individuals with underlying diseases (e.g. cardiovascular diseases) and vulnerable countries or regions (e.g. Central Asia and central Europe).

RESUMO

Introduction: The rhizomes of Coptis plants have been used in traditional Chinese medicine over 2000 years. Due to increasing market demand, the overexploitation of wild populations, habitat degradation and indiscriminate artificial cultivation of Coptis species have severely damaged the native germplasms of species in China. Methods: Genome-wide simple-sequence repeat (SSR) markers were developed using the genomic data of C. chinensis. Population genetic diversity and structure of 345 Coptis accessions collected from 32 different populations were performed based on these SSRs. The distribution of suitable areas for three taxa in China was predicted and the effects of environmental variables on genetic diversity in relation to different population distributions were further analyzed. Results: 22 primer pairs were selected as clear, stable, and polymorphic SSR markers. These had an average of 16.41 alleles and an average polymorphism information content (PIC) value of 0.664. In the neighbor-joining (N-J) clustering analysis, the 345 individuals clustered into three groups, with C. chinensis, C. chinensis var. brevisepala and C. teeta being clearly separated. All C. chinensis accessions were further divided into four subgroups in the population structure analysis. The predicted distributions of suitable areas and the environmental variables shaping these distributions varied considerably among the three species. Discussion: Overall, the amount of solar radiation, precipitation and altitude were the most important environmental variables influencing the distribution and genetic variation of three species. The findings will provide key information to guide the conservation of genetic resources and construction of a core reserve for species.

RESUMO

The development of nontoxic and efficient antifreeze agents for organ cryopreservation is crucial. However, the research remains highly challenging. In this study, we designed and synthesized a series of peptoid oligomers using the solid-phase submonomer synthesis method by mimicking the amphiphilic structures of antifreeze proteins (AFPs). The obtained peptoid oligomers showed excellent antifreeze properties, reducing the ice crystal growth rate and inhibiting ice recrystallization. The effects of the hydrophobicity and sequence of the peptoid side chains were also studied to reveal the structure-property relationship. The prepared peptoid oligomers were detected as non-cytotoxic and considered to be useful in the biological field. We hope that the peptoid oligomers presented in this study can provide effective strategies for the design of biological cryoprotectants for organ preservation in the future.

RESUMO

Ochratoxin A (OTA) contamination in grape juice has attracted widespread concern as OTA can lead to kidney disease and cause adverse neurological effects. An effective method to remove OTA is to make use of highly adsorbent materials that are able to remove the toxic contaminant. Recently, inactivated Lactobacillus plantarum-based biosorbents have shown to be an efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly bioremediation method in removing toxic pollutants such as OTA. We used five chemical thiol-modification methods to improve the adsorption efficiency of OTA in grape juice. The esterification of Lactobacillus plantarum (L-Es) significantly increased the sulfhydryl contents (-SH) by 251.33 µmol/g and >90% of OTA was removed. However, the inactivated microbial adsorbent was difficult to separate after adsorption and therefore, the prepared L-Es were embedded into the cellulose nanocrystals (L-Es@CNCs). Moreover, L-Es@CNCs significantly increased the adsorption rate of OTA in grape juice samples by 88.28% with negligible effects on juice quality due to the properties of easy re-use and excellent biodegradability. This showcases its potential application for OTA removal in the grape juice industry.

RESUMO

We perform a high-level ab initio study on 20 electronic states of monochlorosilylene (HSiCl) using an internally contracted multireference configuration interaction method including Davidson correction (icMRCI+Q). The spin-orbit coupling (SOC) effect is investigated, leading to splitting of the 20 spin-orbit-free states into 50 spin-orbit-coupled states. Vertical transition energies, oscillator strengths, and potential energy curves are presented with and without considering the SOC effect. Analysis indicates that the SOC effect plays an important role, especially for the high-lying excited states of HSiCl. The state interaction and the dynamics of the electronic states of HSiCl in the ultraviolet region are discussed based on our calculation results. Our study paves the way to understanding the behavior of electronic excited states of monochlorosilylene.

RESUMO

The phenol-formaldehyde (PF) resin is an economical precursor for spherical hard carbon (HC) anodes for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). However, achieving precise molecular-level control of PF-based HC microspheres, particularly for optimizing ion transport microstructure, is challenging. Here, a sodium linoleate (SL)-assisted strategy is proposed to enable molecular-level engineering of PF-based HC microspheres. PF microspheres are synthesized through the polymerization of 3-aminophenol and formaldehyde, initially forming oxazine rings and then undergoing ring-opening polymerization to create a macromolecular network. SL functions as both a surfactant to control microsphere size and a catalyst to enhance ring-opening polymerization and increase polymerization of PF resin. These modifications lead to reduced microsphere diameter, increased interlayer spacing, enhanced graphitization, and significantly improved electron and ion transfer. The synthesized HC microspheres exhibit a remarkable reversible capacity of 337 mAh/g, maintaining 96.9 mAh/g even at a high current density of 5.0 A/g. Furthermore, the full cell demonstrates a high capacity of 150 mAh/g, an energy density of 125.3 Wh kg-1, an impressive initial coulombic efficiency (ICE) of 930.3% at 1 A/g, and remarkable long-term stability over 3000 cycles. This study highlights the potential of surfactant-assisted molecular-level engineering in customizing HC microspheres for advanced SIBs.

RESUMO

The development of porous materials with flexible-robust characteristics shows some unique advantages to target high performance for gas separation, but remains a daunting challenge to achieve so far. Herein, we report a carboxyl-based hydrogen-bonded organic framework (ZJU-HOF-8a) with flexible-robust porosity for efficient purification of natural gas. ZJU-HOF-8a features a four-fold interpenetrated structure with dia topology, wherein abundant supramolecular entanglements are formed between the adjacent subnetworks through weak intermolecular hydrogen bonds. This structural configuration could stabilize the whole framework to establish the permanent porosity, but also enable the framework to show some flexibility (so-called flexible-robust framework). The flexible-robust porosity of ZJU-HOF-8a was confirmed by gas sorption isotherms and SCXRD studies, showing that the flexible pore pockets can be opened by C3H8 and n-C4H10 rather by C2H6 and CH4. This leads to notably higher C3H8 and n-C4H10 uptakes with enhanced selectivities than C2H6 over CH4, affording one of the highest n-C4H10/CH4 selectivities. The gas-loaded single-crystal structures coupled with theoretical simulations reveal that the loading of n-C4H10 can induce an obvious framework expansion along with pore-pocket opening to improve n-C4H10 uptake and selectivity, while not for C2H6 adsorption. This work suggests an effective strategy of designing flexible-robust HOFs for improving gas separation properties.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: A decrease in semen volume among men is comparable to the rising prevalence of obesity worldwide. The anabolic hormone insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) can promote proliferation and differentiation in cultured mouse spermatogonial stem cells and alleviate abnormal in vitro spermatogenesis. Additionally, serum IGF-1 level is negatively correlated with body mass index. Whereas the role of IGF-1 in the sperm production in obese men remains unclear. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the therapeutic effect and potential mechanism of IGF-1 on spermatogenesis of high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity mice. METHODS: An HFD-induced obesity mouse model was established. Alterations in testicular morphology, sperm count, proliferation, and apoptosis were observed by H&E staining, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and Western blotting. Exogenous recombinant IGF-1 was administered to obese mice to investigate the correlations between altered testicular IGF-1 levels and sperm production. RESULTS: The sperm count was reduced, the testicular structure was disordered, and sex hormone levels were abnormal in HFD-fed mice compared with normal diet-fed mice. The expression of proliferation-related antigens such as proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and Ki-67 was decreased, while that of proapoptotic proteins such as c-caspase3 was increased in testes from HFD-fed mice. Most importantly, the phosphorylation of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) in testes was decreased due to reductions in IGF-1 from hepatocytes and Sertoli cells. Recombinant IGF-1 alleviated these functional impairments by promoting IGF-1R, Akt, and Erk1/2 phosphorylation in the testes. CONCLUSIONS: Insufficient IGF-1/IGF-1R signaling is intimately linked to damaged sperm production in obese male mice. Exogenous IGF-1 can improve survival and proliferation as well as sperm production. This study provides a novel theoretical basis and a target for the treatment of obese men with oligozoospermia.

RESUMO

Electroconvulsive shock (ECS) is utilized to treat depression but may cause learning/memory impairments, which may be ameliorated by anesthetics through the modulation of hippocampal synaptic plasticity. Given that synaptic plasticity is governed by aerobic glycolysis, it remains unclear whether anesthetics modulate aerobic glycolysis to enhance learning and memory function. Depression-like behavior in rats was induced by chronic mild unpredictable stress (CUMS), with anhedonia assessed via sucrose preference test (SPT). Depressive-like behaviors and spatial learning/memory were assessed with forced swim test (FST), open field test (OFT), and Morris water maze (MWM) test. Changes in aerobic glycolysis and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampal region of depressive-like rats post-ECS were documented using immunofluorescence analysis, Western blot, Lactate Assay Kit and transmission electron microscopy. Both the OFT and FST indicated that ECS was effective in alleviating depressive-like behaviors. The MWM test demonstrated that anesthetics were capable of attenuating ECS-induced learning and memory deficits. Immunofluorescence analysis, Western blot, Lactate Assay Kit and transmission electron microscopy revealed that the decline in learning and memory abilities in ECS-induced depressive-like rats was correlated with decreased aerobic glycolysis, and that the additional use of ciprofol or propofol ameliorated these alterations. Adding the glycolysis inhibitor 2-DG diminished the ameliorative effects of the anesthetic. No significant difference was observed between ciprofol and propofol in enhancing aerobic glycolysis in astrocytes and synaptic plasticity after ECS. These findings may contribute to understanding the mechanisms by which anesthetic drugs modulate learning and memory impairment after ECS in depressive-like behavior rats.

RESUMO

Significant spatial variability of groundwater arsenic (As) concentrations in South/Southeast Asia is closely associated with sedimentogenesis and biogeochemical cycling processes. However, the role of fine-scale differences in biogeochemical processes under similar sedimentological environments in controlling the spatial heterogeneity of groundwater As concentrations is poorly understood. Within the central Yangtze Basin, dissolved organic matter (DOM) and microbial functional communities in the groundwater and solid-phase As-Fe speciation in Jianghan Plain (JHP) and Jiangbei Plain (JBP) were compared to reveal mechanisms related to the spatial heterogeneity of groundwater As concentration. The optical signatures of DOM showed that low molecular terrestrial fulvic-like with highly humified was predominant in the groundwater of JHP, while terrestrial humic-like and microbial humic-like with high molecular weight were predominant in the groundwater of JBP. The inorganic carbon isotope, microbial functional communities, and solid-phase As-Fe speciation suggest that the primary process controlling As accumulation in JHP groundwater system is the degradation of highly humified OM by methanogens, which drive the reductive dissolution of amorphous iron oxides. While in JBP groundwater systems, anaerobic methane-oxidizing microorganisms (AOM) coupled with fermentative bacteria, iron reduction bacteria (IRB), and sulfate reduction bacteria (SRB) utilize low molecular weight DOM degradation to drive biotic/abiotic reduction of Fe oxides, further facilitating the formation of carbonate associated Fe and crystalline Fe oxides, resulting in As release into groundwater. Different biogeochemical cycling processes determine the evolution of As-enriched aquifer systems, and the coupling of multiple processes involving organic matter transformationiron cyclingsulfur cycling-methane cycling leads to heterogeneity in the spatial distribution of As concentrations in groundwater. These findings provide new perspectives to decipher the spatial variability of As concentrations in groundwater.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), has been associated with several cancer risks in observational studies, but the observed associations have been inconsistent and may face the bias of confounding and reverse causality. The potential causal relationships between IBD and the risk of cancers remain largely unclear. METHODS: We performed genome-wide linkage disequilibrium score regression (LDSC), standard two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR), and colocalization analyses using summary genome-wide association study (GWAS) data across East Asian and European populations to evaluate the causal relationships between IBD and cancers. Sensitivity analyses for the MR approach were additionally performed to explore the stability of the results. RESULTS: There were no significant genetic correlations between IBD, CD, or UC and cancers (all P values > 0.05) in East Asian or European populations. According to the main MR analysis, no significant causal relationship was observed between IBD and cancers in the East Asian population. There were significant associations between CD and ovarian cancer (odds ratio [OR] = 0.898, 95% CI = 0.844-0.955) and between UC and nonmelanoma skin cancer (OR = 1.002, 95% CI = 1.000-1.004, P = 0.019) in the European population. The multivariable MR analysis did not find any of the above significant associations. There was no shared causal variant to prove the associations of IBD, CD, or UC with cancers in East Asian or European populations using colocalization analysis. CONCLUSIONS: We did not provide robust genetic evidence of causal associations between IBD and cancer risk. Exposure to IBD might not independently contribute to the risk of cancers, and the increased risk of cancers observed in observational studies might be attributed to factors accompanying the diagnosis of IBD.

RESUMO

One of the two chromosomal breakage events in recurring translocations in B cell neoplasms is often due to the recombination-activating gene complex (RAG complex) releasing DNA ends before end joining. The other break occurs in a fragile zone of 20-600 bp in a non-antigen receptor gene locus, with a more complex and intriguing set of mechanistic factors underlying such narrow fragile zones. These factors include activation-induced deaminase (AID), which acts only at regions of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA). Recent work leads to a model involving the tethering of AID to the nascent RNA as it emerges from the RNA polymerase. This mechanism may have relevance in class switch recombination (CSR) and somatic hypermutation (SHM), as well as broader relevance for other DNA enzymes.

RESUMO

Accurate prediction of the groundwater level (GWL) is crucial for sustainable groundwater resource management. Ecological water replenishment (EWR) involves artificially diverting water to replenish the ecological flow and water resources of both surface water and groundwater within the basin. However, fluctuations in GWLs during the EWR process exhibit high nonlinearity and complexity in their time series, making it challenging for single data-driven models to predict the trend of groundwater level changes under the backdrop of EWR. This study introduced a new GWL prediction strategy based on a hybrid deep learning model, STL-IWOA-GRU. It integrated the LOESS-based seasonal trend decomposition algorithm (STL), improved whale optimization algorithm (IWOA), and Gated recurrent unit (GRU). The aim was to accurately predict GWLs in the context of EWR. This study gathered GWL, precipitation, and surface runoff data from 21 monitoring wells in the Yongding River Basin (Beijing Section) over a period of 731 days. The research results demonstrate that the improvement strategy implemented for the IWOA enhances the convergence speed and global search capabilities of the algorithm. In the case analysis, evaluation metrics including the root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), and Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE) were employed. STL-IWOA-GRU exhibited commendable performance, with MAE achieving the best result, averaging at 0.266. When compared to other models such as Variance Mode Decomposition-Gated Recurrent Unit (VMD-GRU), Ant Lion Optimizer-Support Vector Machine (ALO-SVM), STL-Particle Swarm Optimization-GRU (STL-PSO-GRU), and STL-Sine Cosine Algorithm-GRU (STL-SCA-GRU), MAE was reduced by 18%, 26%, 11%, and 29%, respectively. This indicates that the model proposed in this study exhibited high prediction accuracy and robust versatility, making it a potent strategic choice for forecasting GWL changes in the context of EWR.

RESUMO

Feline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR) is caused by the feline herpesvirus-1 (FHV-1), which commonly results in upper respiratory symptoms, and can result in death in the kittens and weak cats. Rabies is an infectious disease with zoonotic characteristics highly relevant to public health and also poses a serious threat to cats. Vaccines are the most effective method to control the spread of both FHV-1 and RABV and have the advantage that they produce long-term specific immune responses. In this study, we constructed a bivalent vaccine against FHV-1 and rabies virus (RABV) simultaneously. The vaccine was constructed by cloning FHV-1 gB into a RABV based vector, and the recombinant RABV (SRV9-FHV-gB) expressing the FHV-1 gB protein was rescued. The growth characteristics of SRV9-FHV-gB were analyzed on NA and BSR cells. To assess the immunogenicity of the vaccine, mice and cats were immunized with SRV9-FHV-gB supplemented with Gel02 adjuvant. The SRV9-FHV-gB exhibited the same growth characteristics as the parent virus SRV9 in both BSR cells and NA cells. The safety of SRV9-FHV-gB was evaluated using 5-day-old and 14-day-old suckling mice. The results showed that mice infected with the SRV9-FHV-gB survived for longer than those in the SRV9 group. Mice immunized with inactivated SRV9-FHV-gB produced high titers of specific antibodies against FHV-1 and neutralizing antibodies against RABV. Cats that received three immunizations with SRV9-FHV-gB also produced neutralizing antibodies against both FHV-1 and RABV. This study represents the first time that a bivalent vaccine targeting FHV-1 and RABV has been constructed, laying the foundations and providing inspiration for the development of other multivalent vaccines.

RESUMO

The lack of ambipolar polymers with balanced hole (µh) and electron mobilities (µe) >10 cm2 V-1 s-1 is the main bottleneck for developing organic integrated circuits. Herein, we show the design and synthesis of a π-extended selenium-containing acceptor-dimeric unit, namely benzo[c][1,2,5]selenadiazol-4-yl)ethane (BBSeE), to address this dilemma. In comparison to its sulfur-counterpart, BBSeE demonstrates enlarged co-planarity, selective noncovalent interactions, polarized Se-N bond, and higher electron affinity. The successful stannylation of BBSeE offers a great opportunity to access acceptor-acceptor copolymer pN-BBSeE, which shows a narrower band gap, lower-lying lowest unoccupied molecular orbital level (-4.05 eV), and a higher degree of backbone planarity. Consequently, the pN-BBSeE-based organic transistors display an ideally balanced ambipolar transporting property with µh and µe of 10.65 and 10.72 cm2 V-1 s-1, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, the simultaneous µh/µe values >10.0 cm2 V-1 s-1 are the best performances ever reported for ambipolar polymers. In addition, pN-BBSeE shows an excellent shelf-storage stability, retaining over 85 % of the initial mobility values after two months storage. Our study demonstrates the π-extended acceptor-dimeric BBSeE is a promising acceptor building block for constructing high-performance ambipolar polymers applied in next-generation organic integrated circuit.
